CUBANOS IN WISCONSIN BY SILVIO CANTO JR
E.K. Mike C
DJ Darryl C (d. late 1990’s)
Formed in Harlem in 1977 by a group of high school pals, they began giving performances at neighborhood playgrounds.
Mike C worked in a recording studio and invited the crew down there. They wrote rhymes on the way there and the song turned into the hip hop classic “High Powered Rap.” They pressed the records themselves and sold them out of their trunks right to their fans.
Someone of Sugar Hill Records heard the song and gave it GMF to perform. This caused a bit of a feud between the two groups for a time.
Eventually the Crash Crew signed on to Sugar Hill Records and recorded several tracks.
EK Mike C lives in NY and drives transit buses. Barry works as a security guard at the Nation’s Capitol. La Shubee is the assistant director at NYU food services.
A new release of their singles was released this in 200
IS THIS WHAT WE CAN DO TO ELIMINATE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE?
We are always asking ourselves what we can do to prevent or eliminate domestic violence (DV). Could the Quincy Solution be the answer?
It makes sense that ending DV requires a legal system that women can use readily to get help, and that takes full legal measures against abusers, right? Seems reasonable, but for whatever reasons, it doesn’t often work that way. The Quincy Solution comes from a 1987 study by a suburban Boston judicial district that actually researched what could help eliminate DV, and they based the Quincy Solution upon that research. They found that in order to be effective against DV, the system had to empower victims and control abusers. Easy to say, but how do we do that?
Barry Goldstein, a nationally recognized domestic violence author, speaker and advocate will join us Saturday to talk about the Quincy Solution. He has written several of the leading domestic violence books including Domestic Violence, Abuse and Child Custody co-edited with Dr. Mo Therese Hannah, Representing the Domestic Violence Survivor, co-authored with Elizabeth Liu and Scared to Leave Afraid to Stay. His newest book is The Quincy Solution: Stop Domestic Violence and Save $500 Billion.
Join us Saturday at 11 am Pacific Time to learn more about the Quincy Plan and domestic violence.

One of several examples of Thracian literature in form of Chronicles, discovered by Dr. Stephen Guide, this particular text tells us the story of our forebearers Adam and Eva. Probabnly the oldest Christian oriented culture post flood, the Thracians had their own ancient literature and language (much older than Greek and Sumerian) - and had what we would consider Christian religious literature which in this case is attributed to their forefather *Orfei I, who lived in around 5500 BC and who was the first Thracian priest in most remote ancient time. We are speaking about a time before appearance of Egypt and Greece, and even Sumer/Mesopotamia. Not available to the English speaking public this will be the first time anyone has read or shared its contents in anyway prior.
