Call it life feeding art. Call it truth in advertising. Call it a vintage Francesca moment. It happened as Francesca Battistelli was working on the follow-up to My Paper Heart, one of the most joyful and successful national debuts in recent memory, and it provides a telling glimpse into the mindset that makes her art so powerfully uplifting. It's a dream she has long since fulfilled. Not only did My Paper Heart produce four major hits on the Christian charts—"I'm Letting Go," "Free To Be Me," "It's Your Life" and "Beautiful Beautiful"—but her music spread like wildfire on TV shows including ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, NBC’s The Biggest Loser, FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance, TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8, MTV’s The Hills and the Style Network's Running in Heels, on promos for the movie smash Julie & Julia and on the AOL Music home page, among many others. The release was the biggest-seller for a debut Christian artist in nearly a decade and the longest-running #1 for a female artist in Billboard Christian Album Chart history. It earned Francesca a raft of Dove Award nominations—she picked up the "Female Vocalist of the Year" and "Short Form Video" awards in April 2010—as well as a Grammy nomination en route to selling nearly half a million copies and three-quarters-of-a-million downloads.

Celebrated public speaker, personal life coach, poet, television personality, Publisher and Editor-In-Chief of a national magazine, noted gay rights activist, and essayist, Mr. Bridgeforth has come a long way in a very short time since his October 15, 1987 birth, in Voorhees, New Jersey. Grammy/Platinum Award Winner Gerald Alston Lead Singer of "The Manhattans" joins GD on A Touch of Grace @ 1:30PM, Thursday, 6/12/2014. To listen to the show click the link,or: ON DAY OF SHOW ONLY: Call in to speak with the host 347-215-7169.
THE MANHATTANS featuring Gerald Alston & Blue Lovett, along with Troy May & David Tyson bring stellar legacy to the stage. With all time hits such as "Kiss and Say Goodbye" and "Shining Star" along with numerous other hits, there is no doubt that THE MANHATTANS are here to stay!
About Gerald Alston:
As any R&B enthusiast will attest, the name Gerald Alston has always been synonymous with soul, elegance and sophistication. Born and raised in Henderson, North Carolina where both his mother and father sang
gospel music, Gerald was raised on the gospel music he heard in church and at home (his uncle, Johnny Fields is one of the Five Blind Boys of Alabama). Enroute to a college degree as a pre-med student with a music minor, the fates
intervened and Gerald left college to join The Manhattans as lead singer.
After sixteen years, Gerald left to pursue a solo career. His 1987debut album with Motown Records was entitled "Gerald Alston" followed by "Open Invitation" in 1990. His third album in 1992 "Always In The Mood" was a blend of classic R&B songs with 90's music and nuances. In 1993, Gerald signed with Scottie Brothers/Street Life Records and recorded
his debut album entitled "1st Class Only" which he believes is one of the best albums he recorded.
LOTL The Comfort Zone Presents Award-Winner Songwriter/Producer Preston Glass . Debuts his New album " Soul In The Rear View Mirror'.
You might not recognize his name, but I bet you’ve heard his music. Preston Glass is a songwriter and a producer who has written over 30 R&B hits and 5 top ten hits with artists such as Whitney Houston, Earth, Wind & Fire, George Benson, Lionel Richie, Aretha Franklin, and more. He is a five-time BMI Award winner (three songs received the Millionaire Awards), and he was a professor of music at UCLA (extension programs)
With his career peaks including writing Natalie Cole’s 1989 international Number One ‘Miss You Like Crazy’ and producing the biggest-selling jazz/pop LP of the Eighties – Kenny G’s multi-Platinum ‘Duotones’ – fact is Preston’s long range of writing and/or production credits range from such bona fide mainstream black icons as Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross and Earth, Wind & Fire; to respected connoisseur favourites like Angela Bofill, Lenny Williams and Phyllis Hyman.
Having been initially exposed to many different cultures and musics from his early travels while growing up as an “army brat”, Preston first started out as a staff writer for legendary Philly producer/writer Thom Bell in the late Seventies – before blossoming as both a writer and producer under the auspices of then man-of-the-moment Narada Michael Walden in the Eighties. During which decade he collaborated with most of the aforementioned superstars.
Authors on the Air host Pam Stack is pleased to welcome award-winning international best-selling author Andrew Gross to the studio for a LIVE conversation about his books and career. Andy is the author of The Blue Zone, Don't Look Twice, and The Dark Tide, which was nominated for the Best Thriller of the Year award by the International Thriller Writers, Reckless, Eyes Wide Open and most recently Everything to Lose. He is also coauthor of five number one bestsellers with James Patterson, including Judge & Jury and Lifeguard. For more see http://andrewgrossbooks.com.
