    in Music

John Goodman is the author the book "Mingus Speaks." John will be chatting with co-hosts Alan Bramwell (Giants of Jazz Radio) and Jose Reyes (Jazz Con Class Radio). This interview will mostly concentrate on this revealing book and also on Mingus' amazing career. He was a genius but was very temperamental and was sometimes very hard to work with as a musician but John somehow was able to find a confort zone for these one-on-one interviews. Listen in and/or call in with your questions.

MINGUS SPEAKS is a book of extended interviews which allowed the man to explain himself. He was assisted by me, the interviewer, and by a number of close associates who commented on aspects of his life, behavior and music.

We did the interviews in 1972 and 1974, five years before Mingus died. It was a contentious and wonderful period in his life and for his music....Learn More

Cynde Interviews Paul Selig, Internationally acclaimed author and channel.

    in Spirituality

Paul Selig is considered to be one of the foremost spiritual channels working today. In his breakthrough works of channeled literature, I Am the Word, The Book of Love and Creation, The Book of Knowing and Worth and The Book of Mastery, author and medium Paul Selig has recorded an extraordinary program for personal and planetary evolution as humankind awakens to its own divine nature.

A spiritual experience in 1987 left him clairvoyant. As a way to gain a context for what he was beginning to experience he studied a form of energy healing and began to “hear” for his clients. Described as “a medium for the living,” Paul has the unique ability to step-into and “become” the people his clients ask about, often taking on their personalities and physical characteristics as he “hears” them telepathically.  www.paulselig.com

Author Tom Fox discusses "DOMINUS" thriller set in the Vatican. LIVE on AOTA

    in Books

Authors on the Air host Pam Stack welcomes scholar Tom Fox to discuss his first fiction thriller DOMINUS. Here is the story:  The Vatican Cathedral is packed to the rafters as Pope Gregory XVII leads the congregation in mass. A cloaked stranger steps suddenly and fearlessly towards the altar and commands the wheelchair-bound Pope to stand. He does. The miracle, if that's what it is, stops the world in its tracks. Who is this stranger?      More inexplicable events follow: blind children see for the first time, cancers are cured, and a popular young starlet killed in a surfing accident inexplicably regains consciousness. There is widespread awe at each new demonstration of healing, but the Vatican retreats from the public eye, closing its doors to the world. What the public doesn't see is that someone is threatening various Church officials-as well as the stranger the world is branding a miracle-worker.      Skeptical investigative journalist Alexander Trecchio, seeking a source who could discredit the growing religious mania, instead discovers a gruesome killing. Soon Alexander and police officer Gabriella Fierro are working together to find the killer and get to the bottom of the mysterious events that have sent the world into a frenzy and the Catholic Church into retreat.

Adorable Scoundrels, Now they’re a book!

You’ll recognize your own toddlers (past or present) in the charming illustrations of Susan Robinson, who has two 3-year-olds of her own, and in the truth-telling verses of author, poet, and playwright Howard Eisenberg who met them first as toddlers of his own and of his much beloved late wife Arlene, who co-wrote the parenting bible, What to Expect When You’re Expecting.

Arlene, and the hundreds of toddlers he met with her, became Howard’s inspiration for a treasury of charming Adorable Scoundrel poems that make you smile when you feel like crying. After hearing them at Arlene’s lectures parents would ask, “Where can I get the book?” There was no book then, but there is now.
