    Love Human with Betsy Thompson

    in Self Help

LoveHuman offers guidance regarding how to find comfort in a world where uncomfortable things happen. It answers questions regarding where you come from, where you are going, and why you are here.  The message helps us embrace this world as it is and the people around us as they are—and love whatever that is. Not because it’s a perfect world, but because as we love and accept life as it is, love and acceptance grow.

A Philadelphia native with a B.F.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, Betsy worked as an account executive for several Philadelphia radio stations and as a commercial print model, appearing in television commercials in Philadelphia and New York. After moving to California, Betsy struggled and nearly became homeless. After she recognized her tendency to blame everyone else for her problems and decided to become accountable, she began to recover. For the next eighteen years, Betsy worked as an Executive Assistant to an entertainment executive in the film industry. She retired in 2005 and is now writing full time.

Betsy has a passion for communicating spiritual concepts. Her lessons have been about understanding how she faces herself wherever she goes. Betsy finally realized that each job and each person was an opportunity to know herself better, not an opportunity to blame others for her problems.  In addition to LOVEHUMAN, Betsy is the author of The WHAT HAPPENS IF I…Book –WALKING THROUGH ILLUSION, THE MIRROR THEORY, LOVEPARENT, LOVEHUMAN and, YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK,

All things are possible to them that believe,  I believe!

Proverbs 25:25  As cold water to a weary soul, So is good news from a far country.

    Psalms 107:18-21
20  He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

    Proverbs 3:16
Blessed is the man that finds wisdom because length of days is in her right hand and riches and honor in her left hand.

    2 Peter 1:2-7
3  ... His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,  4  by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

This World Is Not My Home

    in Christianity

1 Peter 2:11-12 says Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.  What a true verse of scripture we must be reminded of daily, that we do not belong to this world. We are strangers and pilgrims who are on a journey towards Heaven to reign with our Lord and Saviour. But until that great day comes it will be asked of us to go through many trials, difficuties, hardships and temptations in order to make us strong in our faith and trust in Almighty God. 2 Cor 4:8-9 makes this point very clear, " We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed". Exactly how are we to be seperate in a wicked, depraved and sensual world today? What will it take to stay focused towards the goal for the prize thats right before us? Know this, satan will always seek out ways to distract us from our journey and get us thinking about living it up here just a little while longer....eat, drink and be merry, indulge in every lustful appetite you can think of. He simply wants you to forget your just a sojourner, forget those eternal bliessings and rewards in Christ, and yes miss out on Gods best. King Solomon said it best, Ecclesiastes 2:1  said to myself, "Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good." But that also proved to be meaningless, lord teach us to be sober and vigilant and know that this world is not our home.

Editor-in-Chief Peter Trippi on Supporting the Visual Arts Today

    in Art

What does it take to support and curate the visual arts in today's competitive environment? Join us as Peter Trippi, editor-in-chief of Fine Arts Connoisseur magazine, talks about the current art world and what he does to help artists succeed.

Peter Trippi is editor-in-chief of Fine Art Connoisseur, the bimonthly magazine that serves collectors of historical and contemporary representational painting, sculpture, drawings, and prints.  He is also president of Projects in 19th-Century Art, Inc., the firm he established to pursue a range of research, writing, and curating opportunities. Trippi holds a MA from New York University in Visual Arts Administration, as well as a MA in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London.   As director of New York’s Dahesh Museum of Art, Trippi guided its renovation of the former IBM Gallery and presentation of nine exhibitions of 19th-century European art.  In 2002, Phaidon Press published Trippi’s 250-page monograph J W Waterhouse, which reassesses the Victorian painter and Royal Academician best known for his Lady of Shalott at Tate Britain.  Trippi went on to guest-curate the Waterhouse retrospective that appeared at the Groninger Museum in the Netherlands, London’s Royal Academy of Arts, and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. He is now co-curating a touring exhibition about the Victorian painter Lawrence Alma-Tadema, to open in 2016 at the Fries Museum, in the Dutch artist’s native city, Leeuwarden. In 2013, Trippi completed a two-year term as president of the nonprofit organization Historians of British Art, and then became president of the Association of Historians of Nineteenth-Century Art.
