The Season is truly upon us we are in full swing as they would say if this was baseball. Baseball is going on but right now until October it's all about Football. The college race for the inaugural 4 team playoff is hot right now. We will not get an official poll from the members of the select committee until October, but in the mean time the games have been off the proverbial chain. The NFL has brought its usual brand of excitement and it has proven once again to be a constant that we just love to indulge in each year. Can we ever get enough of Football? NO!

Bob Coleman has served as pastor in a variety of settings since 1984. He has been a circuit pastor to three churches, preaching at all three every Sunday morning. He has also been a campus minister at Austin Peay State University. He has experienced the nuances of both rural and urban ministries for the past thirty years. In 1991, Bob came to Nashville’s West End United Methodist Church as Minister of Social Justice. Five years later he was the new pastor at Edgehill United Methodist Church, a small but thriving progressive church that served the community and world with bold faith. While there, Bob taught as an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt Divinity School, where he had received his M.Div. in 1986. He taught two courses repeatedly over the next several years, The Church and the Poor, and The Church in the City. Bob helped to start the Interfaith Dental Clinic in Nashville which serves thousands of locals who have income but no dental insurance. He also helped to formally incorporate Luke 14:12, a ministry to share banquet meals with homeless and hungry brothers and sisters in Nashville. In 2007, Bob was offered and accepted the position of Minister of Social Justice at The Riverside Church in New York City. He served that role and then added the role of Chief Program Minister in 2009. New York brought growth opportunities for Bob to engage in justice ministries. He returned to Nashville in 2013 to be closer to family and friends and serves at Glendale UM Church. Bob and Tami were married in 1979 and they have two sons, Brent Coleman in Nashville, and Jacob Coleman in Oklahoma City, and one daughter, Allison Ergle in Gilbert, South Carolina. They have three grandchildren, Nash, Eli, and Sophie. Bob and Tami love to read to each other, hike the mountains of West Virginia and Tennessee, listen to good music, and commune with friends, both new and old around their table.

The asininity just won't ever end. Anyone who thought it couldn't worse than the Ray Rice domestic violence scandal for the NFL, was very very wrong. Mike "the Buzz-saw" Asti and George "the Howitzer" Gerbo continue their annoyance on the asinine issues, that seem to never stop plaguing sports. While they're annoyed like everybody else, your favorite sports genius' were born to analyze the overly asinine.
Adrian Peterson joins Rice amomg recognizable running backs, now shamed by off the field transgressions. With pictures of abuse to his four year old son surfacing, what is the perception of Peterson compared to Rice? Did the Vikings handle this situation properly or did they go from handling it right to messing it up? Why has NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell been silent during the Peterson drama? Mike goes on one of his epic rants explaining why it's not as easy as some think for a franchise to outright release a star player dealing with legal trouble. What can the league do to change? A message to the buffoons claiming their "done" with the NFL is sent.
Unacceptable behavior isn't going in the professional ranks. Jameis Winston can't stop acting a fool. Will this recent incident cause a red flag in Winston's draft stock? How were Manziel's actions different? Suspended for only one half?! Come on, man!
To sprinkle some joy in this field of ridiculousness, the MLB pennant races are almost over. Who will claim the final playoff spots? Could we have an Orioles and Nationals Beltway World Series? Did Ron Washington owe us an apology for his adulterty? The short answer....NO.
If you're not conquering the asinine, you're simply not conquering. The Howitzer and Buzz-saw conquer all that is asinine, one day, at a time....
