"Ron Leifer, MD, MA, is a psychiatrist with more than fifty years’ experience as a nonmedical, noncoercive psychotherapist. He received his psychiatric training at the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, where his mentor was Professor Thomas Szasz, MD. . . . His interest then turned to a synthesis of Western psychology and Buddhist psychology, the result of which was the publication of a triology of books on the subject: The Happiness Project (1996), Vinegar into Honey (2006), and Engagements With The World (2013). In 2001, Ron Leifer was awarded the “Thomas Szasz Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Cause of Civil Liberties” (Professional Category)"

On June 26, 2014 from 8 - 10 PM Eastern, tune in to the Talk with Tenney show for a lively conversation shining light on psychiatry and efforts to resist against it, in Canada and across the world. Dr. Bonnie Burstow's work over the years on exposing the abuse and torture people -- particularly women --have endured at the hands of psychiatry is expansive, and dates back decades. Her work on exposing electroshock as a crime against humanity needs attention. You can call in (267) 521 - 0167 to discuss the fight against psychiatry, the battle in academia, being silenced and obstructed, and strategic activism. Different efforts Dr. Burstow has been involved in including Psychiatry Disrupted, Psychiatry Interrogated, and Psychiatry and the Business of Madness will be at hand.
Dr. Bonnie Burstow is a faculty member at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at University of Toronto and a very long time antipsychiatry activist (approximately 35 years) . She is also a feminist therapist, a prison abolitionist, a left wing anarchist, and a prolific author. Examples of organizations and events which she has chaired over the years include: the Ontario Coalition Against Electroshock, Resistance Against Psychiatry, Coalition Against Psychiatric Assault, and the first PsychOut Conference. Examples of her publications are Radical Feminist Therapy: Working in the Context of Violence, Shrink Resistant (co-edited with Don Weitz); A Rose By Any Other Name: Naming and the Battle Against Psychiatry (in Mad Matters) and the much anticipated, soon to be released anthology of which she is first editor, Psychiatry Disrupted. (McGill/Queen's University Press).

State-Sponsored Organized Psychiatric Industries are with state-sanction power violating our human, constitutional and civil rights. The (p)harmaceutical industry is profiting in the billions, annually. The tax-payers are paying enormously. People's lives are being stolen from them, as they are held in slavery, abused, tortured, and murdered.
If you have a story you would like to share - speak out here!

You don't have to be mad to call in . . . But it helps.
Involuntary Outpatient Commitment is a threat to anyone who has a psychiatric history --or who in the future may be psychiatrically assigned. The 'slippery slope' of removing the civil liberties for some -based on the fraud of psychiatry- surely will limit the civil liberties of all. Speak out against psychiatric oppression. Celebrate the human spirit. Call in - what do you want to talk about? First time callers welcome!
