    Minority Law Enforcement Diversity Initiative

    in Legal

During the past half-century, police violence against African Americans—at once, both grotesque and routine—sparked two great Los Angeles riots and other instances of civil unrest. In recent years, the protests against these police killings have taken the form of movements to reform police practices and change the nature of police training, as well as the composition of the police forces themselves. These movements, however, have yet to engender a nationwide call for police reform until now. Efforts are under way to increase the percentage of minorities

Studies show that while African-American police officers are much like their white counterparts in arrest rates, their presence enhances the credibility of the entire police force within the black community.

Joining us tonight for this discussion is retired Houston Police Officer Kavin Brown. Also Joining us is retired New York Police Officer Greg Mosley. Greg Mosley is the President of Operation Unite, which aims to develop a pool of minority candidates that are able and willing to take advantage of openings for police officers.

LET'S GET READY TO EVOLVE INTO HIGHER CONSCIOUSNESS...

Until You Walk the Path, You Won't Know Where it Goes

    in Entertainment

Until You Walk The Path, You Won’t Know Where it Goes will be chatting with musician, author, and President of Guitars Not Guns, Gregg Hammond on April 16.2015 at 1 pm eastern as he talks about how the arts makes positive changes in children and teenagers' lives.

Musician, mentor, guitar teacher, philanthropist, and author born in DC. Gregg's family moved away from DC in the late 60's to escape the violence of the riots. The move landed him in the Florida Keys, where he grew up learning to live in the natural surroundings, teaching fishing, snorkeling, & exploring in the back country islands of the Keys. Hurricanes destroyed his guitar studio and then his home. With his dog and a guitar, he began a journey to find a larger purpose for his life. He traveled highways and mountain wilderness searching for his truth. Returning to DC in 2002, Gregg experienced violence in the streets. He and his father were randomly attacked by a gang of kids in '04. He was held at gunpoint by teens in '05, and nearly ambushed again by another gang in '06. These experiences compelled him to take action to make a difference. He founded GNG DC and volunteers his time wearing many hats within the charity to keep it going. He has witnessed miracles in the classroom. His vision includes bringing the world together, all playing the same song at the same time, featuring many of the Guitars Not Guns students up on the stages with great musicians like Paul McCartney, U2, and Ben Harper.

    Mother’s Milk #SamiyyahSaafirMuhammad 323.927.2913

    in Family

Samiyyah Saafir-Muhammad was born Jacqueline Glover in New York City in 1951. After spending her early years in foster care, moving four times before the age of three, she settled in with her aunt, following her father’s passing.

While still in elementary school Samiyyah took an interest in helping other students do well, joining “The Future Teachers’ Club” in the fifth grade. As a high school student, Samiyyah became aware her people’s struggle for freedom—witnessing civil rights demonstrations, protests, assassinations and riots—and decided she wanted to help somehow.  It was in this atmosphere that she went off to Northeastern University in Boston where she majored in Education. Her stay there was short-lived, however, as she was introduced to the teachings of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and thereafter joined the Nation of Islam. Within the Nation of Islam’s Muhammad University, Samiyyah underwent educational training and worked as a teacher’s assistant.

Since 2005, Samiyyah has had the privilege of serving as the Directress at Muhammad University of Islam in Atlanta, which serves students from Pre-K to the eighth grade. She has been blessed to carry on the 84-year educational tradition, which was started by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and his brave followers in the 1930’s.

A widow after 35 years of marriage, Samiyyah presently enjoys the blessing of her and her husband’s nine children: six sons and three daughters, all of whom attended or are attending HBCUs. Samiyyah has been a mother to not only her nine children, but also to her two stepchildren, her nieces and nephews, her eight grandchildren and countless other children and adults in the community who come to her for advice, wisdom and guidance. Affectionately called MamaMiyyah, Samiyyah’s house is never empty.

The Evil Within!!! Black Terrorists In America!!!

    in Religion

Imagine thousands of feral, outraged blacks rioting and wildly destroying everything and any random white person in sight!!! This will become a reality if we don't wake up now!!! We must prepare for the guerilla terrorist armies of blacks, who will likely explode in total, widespread melees of wanton savagery. Militant black leaders and activists keep loudly guaranteeing all apocalyptic hell will break loose in America!!!  The evil within America has its modern-day stronghold among the millions of incendiary malcontents and depraved violent criminals overrunning most of America’s countless black ghettoes.  They make streets, shopping centers, parks, restaurants, public transportation, and even classrooms dangerous places for people of all races. They keep civilized society and even entire police departments and elected officials in quivering subjugation to their foaming, guttural demands, threats of violence, and actual violence. They are terrorists!!!
