The tennis profile of prominent American players has gradually declined over the past twenty years. Gone are the days when players such as Connors, Evert, McEnroe, Agassi, and Sampras dominated the world tennis rankings. On today’s tennis scene, Americans are a minor blip on both the ATP and WTA radar. The first pressing question is WHY? And secondly, what can be done to change this situation?

It's official. Las Vegas is an international tennis city. And this can no longer be solely attributed to Vegas residents Andre Agassi & Stefanie Graf. There are now many reasons the game is thriving here. World class junior players and top ATP & WTA stars alike practice in this city. Adidas, with Gil Reyes and Darren Cahill at the helm, has set up its player development center in the southwest area of town. The USTA awarded it's highly coveted "Regional Training Center" status to the Darling Tennis Center in Vegas's northwestern community of Summerlin. And all over, academies and camps are flourishing. So on today's "Tennis360", Andres welcomes back USTA Nevada Executive Director Ryan Wolfington to talk about these success stories and to explain why high-performance tennis is so vital to this community. Also expected to call in: USTA Player Development representative Geoff Russell, Vegas tennis directors Tim Blenkiron, Saad Ashraf & Adolph Huddleston, and professional sports massage therapist Glen Alex. Tune in LIVE on Thursday November 18th at 2pm PST to listen, or catch an archived version of the show anytime.
