On today’s show World Footprints explores the plight of the endangered Panther, we chat with one of the rising IZOD Indycar stars Simona de Silvestro, and we also view Catholicism through the lens with Father Robert Barron. As a special bonus, we added some sound bytes and interviews from the DC Stop Modern Slavery walk to end human trafficking.
Panthers once roamed the entire southeastern United States; from Florida to South Carolina and Louisiana. However, the panther was added to the Endangered Species List in 1967 and today the remaining population is isolated in South Florida. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is at the forefront of the Panther conservation efforts and Park Ranger Sandy Mickey from the Florida Panther & Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuges joins us today to talk about some of these initiatives.
Then, we enjoyed a chat with one of the IZOD Indycar series rising stars, Simona de Silvestro. Simona is one of a handful of female Indycar racers and she is one of the most prominent racecar drivers on the track. Instead of acquiring a richer and fuller knowledge of U.S. history and civics, American students and adults display astounding ignorance of them, and their blindness is matched by their indifference to the problem. Our political sphere is now understood as a contest of group interests. Patriotism and the common good are quaint notions. Individualism has evolved from “rugged” versions of the past into group identities and entitlement-seeking. People pay more attention to their Facebook page than to the newspaper. Self-reliance has become a spurious boast (“You didn’t build that”) and dependency has become a tactical claim. Instead of upholding basic liberties, more and more Americans accept restrictions on speech, freedom of association, rights to privacy, and religious conscience.

It is imperative that WE THE PEOPLE are able to express that the Governed are not to be treated as Chattel simply because some individuals in the Government have acted against those who are being Governed. If the government choose not to recognize the harm that they inflict on the Governed then that becomes tyranny.

America has gone beyond being just a terrorist state it has become a tyrannical state, not only have the police and the Judicial System been allowed to kill Black Persons with impunity but White, Brown, Red and Yellow. America has become a Police State and the Police are now above the law and this is a danger to every Citizen of this Country. Now we must organize "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." To secure our rights as Citizens from the Tyranny of the Government protected Police? What about "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." In each case of the Killings by Police and Whites against Black Peoples rights have been violated and the victims are made the criminals.
