    Scoping Fun, ADHD Style!

    in Self Help

Rene Brooks and I were pow-wowing recently about how difficult it can be to work so hard creating structure in your ADHD world, focus on productivity, only to realize that you haven't been having much fun. Unfortunately, you can even try to have fun and accidentally go too far the other way, destroying all of the systems you've worked so hard to create. Where's the balance?

Mind you, I don't believe we actually answered that question but we did have fun talking about it.

Please excuse the sound quality as the seven of us from FB's See in ADHD group attempt to have a discussion in a Zoom Room while livestreaming on Periscope.

    How's that for multi-tasking?

Next time, won't you join us? Email me at Jennie@SeeinADHD.com to find ut how you can participate in an upcoming show.

Meanwhile, you are invited to join the gang on FB in our fun closed group See in ADHD, we'd love to meet you.

The ADHD Effect on Routines, Mood, and More...

    in Self Help

I'm always considering how things look through the ADHD lens. It's the foundation of my blog, See in ADHD, and the concept behind this show.

Join me today with cohost, Rene Brooks of blackgirllostkeys.com, as we discuss a myriad of topics and muse over just what is the ADHD effect on each...

We begin by tackling a big ADHD dilemma, creating routines and sticking to them.

Next, we explore how to stay motivated and determined to achieve your goals when things aren't going the way you planned.

Also, we talk about ADHD curiosity and how it affects family members who don't have ADHD themselves.

How does ADHD relate to your concerns?

    Call-ins are welcome!

    ~ Jennie

ADHD with a Splash of Southern Charm

    in Self Help

I bet ya'll will agree with me that Whitney McCloud is one of the most charming people to listen to. She's the creator of craftingforpurpose.com a blog dedicated to the things that interest her: crafting, writing, connecting with others, helping people, and ADHD.

She's as passionate as she is authentic and is also completely surprised at the overwhelmingly positive responses she's received since beginning her venture only a few short months ago!

Whitney is a devoted wife and mother as well as an ambitious homebased entrepreneur: writing a book, maintaining a blog, making jewelry, scrapbooking, cake decorating, and more. Yet, she holds her audience in the highest regard making certain to take time everyday helping promote her fanbase by retweeting their posts on Twitter. (You know, it'd be rude not to.)

I hope you join me in joining them, her fans, I ceratinly have become one!

Be sure to shoot her a Tweet @craft4purpose or follow her on Facebook and subscribe to her blog CraftingforPurpose.com.

    ADHD Curiosity - It's a Superpower

    in Self Help

From crochet to the Serial Podcast to wearing a jihab, hmm...husbands, ADHD...what didn't we talk about?

René Brooks-Guthridge began blogging about her interests...and they are many. Please check out her blog, Black Girl, Lost Keys and see for yourself!

Curiosity is one of the primary driving forces behind taking action for someone with ADHD. You are invited to join Rene and me as we discuss how curiosity fuels her, while for me, not so much. Is this a good thing?

    What do you think?

Understanding ADHD Better & Other ADHD Mumbo Jumbo

    in Self Help

Meet the compassionate genius behind the website and podcast Generosity Philosophy and creator of George the Generous Giraffe. Kim Trumbo shares with us her interests, frustrations, and other "works in progress". She also gives us a peek into her world where understanding why she does the things she does, in the way she does them, has been an on-going process for her and her family.

Figuring out how to more effectively communicate with your spouse, when one has ADHD and the other doesn't, requires patience and time. One example among her many engaging stories helps us see how even after being repeatedly told what to do to keep track of her keys, it wasn't until she felt a resonnance with others in the ADHD community that she was able to finally devise her own unique system ... one that, ironically, wasn't much different than that original spouse-suggested one.

As for what we can expect from Kim next, well...one can never be entirely certain, but it seems like it's going to rhyme with gumbo!

Visit Kim online at www.generosityphilopsophy.com   Twitter @GpPodcast or

Visit Kim on Facebook or talk to her yourself by joining the ADHD Mumbo Jumbo Facebook Group!

Are You Driven to Better by ADHD?

    in Self Help

Justin Sisley thinks maybe ADHD is what's driven him. He's the host of his own successful podcast Driven to Better, which interviews entrepreneurs of all kinds about their businesses and what's driven them to achieve their successes.

Together we discuss what it's like to have never been diagnosed with ADHD but still have a strong suspicion it's there as well as how it may be what's helped him become who he is.

He also has an awesome website, driventobetter.com and invites you to join his Driven to Better Community & Facebook Group. I have!

You can also contact Justin on Twitter @driventobetter and Facebook.

"Why's the Spatula Behind the Couch?" & Other ADHD Questions

    in Self Help

Replay * How do you feel when people ask, "Doesn't everybody have ADHD?" It's a question often considered insulting by people with ADHD; after all, the answer is obviously no and it belittles the diagnosis, insinuating that ADHD isn't real.

But is it always intended to deny ADHD's legitimacy? What if the person asking the question believes it's real because even his own son has it?

In this episode, we explore this topic and talk out loud the process of answering the questions found on the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS-v1.1) Symptom Checklist.

What does it mean if you don't fit neatly into the box of ADHD or non-ADHD? Listen and find out.
