NAVAJO INTERNET RADIO-Navajo Nation Elections Office-Grievances & Compliants

    in Politics

NAVAJO INTERNET RADIO-Navajo Nation Election Office-Grievances & Compliants:

2nd Radio show to discuss the grievances after the primary elections.  What are the reasons behind these grievances?  What is being accomplished?

Did the Navajo Nation Election's Office handle the candidates acceptances, testing and qualification correctly?

Are we trying to do a "retake" of the primary?  If so, how will it be coordinated?  So do we have a primary election again in November with better screening of candidates?

What the employment with the NN government?

Call in and share you thoughts.

Director Banks Helfrich, "fat, dumb and happy"

    in Film

Banks Helfrich has been everything from a professional triathlete to a circus clown, a Harpo Marx look-alike at Universal Studios (Orlando FL) to David Letterman's the Ball Guy from "Is this Anything?" He is also a filmmaker, and writes and directs a feature every two years.  In 2009, "the donut, the balloon and the lifesaver" created buzz on the film festival circuit.  "the ah of life," has captured attention with the Audience Choice Award at UNA George Lindsey Film Festival, Best Feature at Independents' Film Festival, Best Trailer at Fearless Film Festival and acceptances at San Antonio Film Festival and Woods Hole Film Festival. These are just examples. All his films certainly have captured an audience.

His newest project is a very cerebral but funfilm called "fat, dumb and happy." The film follows Walter Quill, a writer who thinks he is God and who has a wife who pays more attention to the dogs than she does to him (or her kids). His kids similarly ignore him. Meanwhile, he has six weeks to get a finished best-selling novel to his agent. By looking at his own life, he is able to create a more happy reality in his own head. The juxtaposition between fantasy and reality leads him to ask the hard questions, like "Why is happiness so elusive" and "how do I brush too hard when I'm using a soft bristle brush?"

The Detectors on the Death of Malcolm X grand son

    in History

Just prior to her death I spoke to Betty Shabazz on the phone that week she was going to fight for saving Affirmative Action and other issues of civil rights which no one has talked about. Yes she was active and knew that Blacks needed this in order to be able not to lose jobs as I knew from working within corporate America in fortune 100 Corporations for years. I saw the inner workings of Black men being denied jobs not because of education but just for being a threat as a black moving into a company and maybe moving up as a equal to another person who was not of color. I saw and was told of this by whites who controlled many businesses. I was ok because I was a Black woman who was needed to set up operations which streamed lined much in operations.
Again racism then is a thousdand times worse today because blacks have accepted it the acceptances has moved into the direction of why we have issues in the black community today. I hear so called black historians many who were NOT THERE speak of what was handed down to them as fact when the truth was coveruped within self media coverage of those who wanted to financial gain within the history. Betty Shabazz fought as I fought then and now over the air via the media which my father and family left to me, via hardship and other mentions the powers in the country had imposed on me over the years. Betty was not weathly but then the history of her murdered husband is, within tapes and documents. I know this because I had some of them because of the relationship my father Dan Burley had with the nation of Islam as the managing editor of the publication Muhammad Speaks and there is more listen tonight

    Grief & Forgiveness

    in Psychology

The pain of any loss can be devastating, especially if it is losing a loved one. It is not easy to let go of the objects of our affection. It is our natural tendency to appreciate what we hold dear to us as parting needs time and tools. Our emotional response to loss has cognitive, physical, behavioral, and spiritual dimensions. After denial, being angry, much soul searching and feeling depressed we need to find forgiveness, acceptance, and surrender.
Join Dr. Sadigh and his special guest, Mary Elizabeth Yoder founder of TheACY Foundation, to allow more acceptances in your life. Find the keys for opening the pathway to freedom and healing. Let bitterness, pain, and anger move out of your life.

About My Guest: Mary Elizabeth Yoder lost her father in a car accident at age eleven. It took her 28 hard years to learn about forgiveness, before facing the drunk driver who had killed her father. She will share with you how to find a safe loving environment in which a grieving person can discover a unique process for healing through art therapy, support groups, and education.

Its A New Order (Its a Brand New Day)

    in Social Networking

This is a giant step towards changing how we
utilize our thinking. There is a bunch of things
changing around us everyday, and its time that
we take notice. Which means that we should stop
taking things for granted. This is the message
today. What we need to do is start living again
in this new mind in space age. During tonight's
program listeners will hear a musicial tribute
to the late great Curtis Mayfield. Who recorded
a few powerful messages in his last album before
he made his transition. Its time for us Blacks
to chill out with our attitudes, and start living
    again.
