    Sons of Lincoln Live

    in Politics

    EXPOSING POLITICAL TRUTHS AND REDEFINING CONSERVATISM. The Sons of Lincoln believe the United States is heading down a very dangerous path. Our culture is rotting, our economy is breaking, national debt is through the roof, radical Islam is at war with us and we are navigating down a road to socialism. We have a deep love for our country, and are loyal to the framework of the constitution. We value our natural born freedoms and are not willing to sit on the sidelines and watch them deteriorate. You, like us, are upset with the leadership being vetted and put into our nations White House. With the 58th quadrennial Presidential election coming in November of 2016, the time to stand up is now. The time for whispers in our personal circles has come to an end. We are on the threshold of a revolution. Whether we do something or not this country is on the brink of change. Tune in and listen to Russ Fine, Rob North and Bernie North discuss the most important issues facing America.

    CEREMONY FOR THE SIGNING OF THE JOINT DECLARATION OF RELIGIOUS LEADERS AGAINST SLAVERY

    Casina Pio IV, Tuesday, 2 December 2014

    Thank you.

    Ladies and Gentlemen, we are witnessing history here today with these brave leaders from all faiths from around the world. Let us collectively give them a very big hand.

    Faith leaders, you have created history. There has never been such a journey as yours trodden before.

    Today we will have the first meeting with the senior Grand Ayatollah from Iran and Iraq with the Holy Father the Pope.

    We have almost unprecedented collaboration between Sunni and Shia, Christianity and Islam, in a worldwide effort to end slavery.

    I applaud, in particular, the Sunni and Shia who have showed to me their love and support for each other. This was so essential in making this miraculous day happen. My own faith has not fared so well. There has not been a significant public agreement between the Vatican and Lambeth Palace since prior to the Reformation many hundreds of years ago.

    I salute the representatives of Christianity and Islam, be you Sunni or Shia, Orthodox, Anglican, Catholic, sons and daughters of Abraham, and all of the other faiths.

    Poet and Teacher Adrian Koesters Joins Kori on the Back Porch

    in Poetry

    Adrian Koesters holds an MFA in poetry from the Rainier Writing workshop at Pacific Lutheran University and a Ph.D. in fiction and poetry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her first book of poems, Many Parishes, was published by BrickHouse Books as part of their New Poets Series, and other work has appeared in Berkeley Review, The Gettysburg Review, Hotel Amerika, and elsewhere. She has been a poetry and fiction assistant editor at Prairie Schooner and fiction editor at A River and Sound Review. She taught writing at UNL and the Creighton University MFA program, and lives in Omaha, Nebraska. Web URL: www.adriankoesters.com

    Koesters' Many Parishes is an original. The poems seem to smack the hard-ass contemporary world up against a deep spiritual sense, until we see they're one and the same. Adrian Koesters is able to write of men calling out to a ten-year old ''spinster'' to ''come on down, sweetheart, I got something over here to show you,'' and allow us to feel in her small, frightened heart the identical anguish of soul as in the nun who's ''divided from the principalities and goes in terror of them.'' These poems, like the nuns, ''take things personally.'' They're lyrical confessions of the deepest griefs--abuse, divorce, doubt, and loneliness. They provide absolution, and positively joy, in their skillful and lucid singing. --Fleda Brown, author of No Need of Sympathy

    The Reality of Hell; The Rich Man went to Hell Part 4

    in Religion

    here was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.  And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And IN HELL he lift up his eyes, being in TORMENTS, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and COOL MY TONGUE; for I AM TORMENTED IN THIS FLAME. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art TORMENTED. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:  For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of TORMENT. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, IF THEY HEAR NOT MOSES AND THE PROPHETS, NEITHER WILL THEY BE PERSUADED, THOUGH ONE ROSE FROM THE DEAD.”

    Replay of May 3rd Sermon - When You're Faced With Trouble

    in Christianity

    Psalm 27:1-5 New King James Version (NKJV)

    1 The Lord is my light and my salvation;
    Whom shall I fear?
    The Lord is the strength of my life;
    Of whom shall I be afraid?
    2 When the wicked came against me
    To eat up my flesh,
    My enemies and foes,
    They stumbled and fell.
    3 Though an army may encamp against me,
    My heart shall not fear;
    Though war may rise against me,
    In this I will be confident.
    4 One thing I have desired of the Lord,
    That will I seek:
    That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    All the days of my life,
    To behold the beauty of the Lord,
    And to inquire in His temple.
    5 For in the time of trouble
    He shall hide me in His pavilion;
    In the secret place of His tabernacle
    He shall hide me;
    He shall set me high upon a rock.

    Truthsharks Radio Presents: Prophet or Loss?/God is Not Your Genie!

    in Christianity

    Welcome to the WVEB presentation of Prophet or Loss?, a division of Truthsharks Radio. I am your host and friend, DJ Southeast Vince, comin' at ya' all the way from a place called Durham, NC. On this show, I will tackle the errors that are prevalent in today's churches such as mandatory tithing, manipulated offerings, church hierarchies, the church building as the house of God, spiritual submission, name-it-and-claim-it, and whatever. If you are an agnostic, atheist, or simply a hater of Christianity, this show is not for you. If you have a question or comment, feel free to call in and state your case, just be sure to season your comments well with respect. So come listen to a man who is black, Christian, and conservative.

    There is a trend that has been ongoing in the Word Faith camp for years and it states that if there is anything you want (money, job, career, house, etc.), if you have enough faith in God, He will grant it to you, that is, if you do your part. People make statements like "I want the blessings of Abraham!" or "This is my season of blessings!" Are these statements biblical or are they a sign of the inner greed that lies within the folks making them? I will discuss this on the next Prophet or Loss?
