Today on BlogTalk Radio the subject of why Katrina is a blessing in disguise. If this storm had not happened attention would not have been called to some of the most atrocious Government actions against Black Americans in the modern history of this country. Which has been reciprocated through out the country and not even recorded in the Public Media outside of the South. We believe the killing of defenseless Youth began in The state of Florida in Jeb Bush country with the killing of Trayvon Martin in 2012 . It did not, it began with a Youth in New Orleans a day before Katrina, who was shot in the back by Police, decapitated and burned. His head buried in one place and his body in another.
The death of Henry Glover was unlike any other in modern times. The hate and brutal viciousness of the crime is reminiscent of the Age Of Jim Crow, and was never reported outside of New Orleans. I promised the people of New Orleans that it would be my mission to let the world know what has happened to them and why. The people of New Orleans have a unique history of African settlement before the coming of the White Man.
Today August 30, the people of New Orleans continued the celebration of those lives taken so abruptly. Not just during the horror of the storm but in the aftermath, who were killed by the police and the national guard. Some of them so badly decomposed from burning, decapitation, and other terrible means that were witnessed by those who stayed. Some voluntarily and others forced to stay behind because of the lack of mobility due to illness, age, or medical conditions too dangerous to leave behind. Some the world witnessed being thrown into the Mississippi River by hospital staff. The only lives spared were those just left there to die in the storm. Under the orders of George Bush the former president the national guard and military brought in ten thousand body bags to fill, contemplating the total annihilation of the people. This is insane and George Bush needs to be charged with crimes against humanity for his gross neglect and giving such an order presumably left no room for optimism of survivors. But a miracle happened and the people who were blessed to survive, survived through the power of the people's love for one another. Black love saved The People of New Orleans.
That is what I experienced today as I said farewell to the city of my mothers birth, the Unconditional Love of Black People for one another. The compassion to help one another survive, UMBUTU, I AM BECAUSE YOU ARE.

After a heartbreaking NFC Championship loss, the Green Bay Packers were one of the favorites to play in Super Bowl 50. They resigned Randall Cobb, returned all offensive starters, including reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. On draft day, they added another weapon, Ty Montgomery from Stanford. Before camp, Montgomery was nothing more than a rookie on the depth chart. The wide receiver unit was solid, with Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and DeVante Adams rounding out the top three. There were talks of Mike McCarthy possibly keeping six wide receivers, on the roster.
Jared Abbrederis was the first victim of injury, in the wide receiver unit, suffering a concussion. Then Jordy Nelson tore his ACL, and now Randall Cobb injured his shoulder. Nelson is out for the year, and Cobb's return is unknown. He suffered a minor AC joint sprain. Bigger injuries loom as Bryan Bulaga sprained his ankle, and has had a history of injuries. Micah Hyde left the game with a neck injury.
On today August 29, 2015 in Armstrong Park there is a commemoration ceremony that I participated in for those lost in Hurricane Katrina. It has been the most uplifting part of this day to see sisters pray together from every religion unified in the spirt of love. This is what Huey struggled so hard to make us see that the spirt of BLACK People must transcend the petty differences in every aspect of life. That racism was a wrong way to live if you were BLACK, that we should not mimic the ways of white people. To hate for the sake of difference only, and creat an environment of hate based on those differences. These are his words and they are in reference to the attitude of one who tried to hijack the Panther Party.
"When a man is consistent, you at least know what is happening and what to expect. Stokely says one thing one day and does another thing the next?.....Stokely told me he would support anyone he did not care who if the person were black. We consider this viewpoint both racist and suicidal." We must learn self love and self respect for ourselves and project that attitude, not an attitude of RIGHT IS MIGHT. These are learned behaviors former slave holders gave us and we need to unlearn this. The idea that every Black Man is a thug or a criminal came from this projected idea and caused the death of many during Katrina who were shot by police and National guard troops. No other race of men has been labeled in such a way as to make the eyes of the world see us as bad people who do not deserve to live. And that is what happened to our people here in New Orleans. They sent 10 thousand body bags because the Government felt it would be easier to let people here die than to save them. It would be easier to seize their land and creat a New Orleans that did not include BLACK ETHNIC communities and rebuild as a White Utopia.

The War of 1812, was one of America's "small and forgotten" conflicts, much like the Korea in the 20th century. Ill advised, and really unnecessary for both Great Britain and the young United States of America (which was less than 50 years old at the time), the War of 1912 was a conflict that gained neither side much benefit, and diverted badly needed resources from other endeavors. Nevertheless, there were a number of intriguing and important lessons to be learned from the conflict, none more interesting than those derived from the British Chesapeake Campaign of 1814. A British squadron under command of Adm. Cochrane, raised habit for most of 1814 from the Virginia Tidewater to the waters around Baltimore, doing a surprising amount of damage and raising havoc against the seemingly hapless Americans. The British squadron took and burned Hampton, VA, portions of Washington, DC, and other towns along the bay, eventually only being stopped by the heroic defense of Baltimore and bombardment of Fort McHenry. It is a fascinating story, little known by most Americans, which almost went unnoticed during the recent bicentennial of the War of 1812.
To learn more about the War of 1812 and the 1814 Chesapeake Campaign, tune into this week's edition of Military Monday (#MilitaryMonday on the Writestream Radio Network (@Writestream)) at 1 PM EDT. Author, historian, journalist, documentary filmmaker, and host John D. Gresham (@greshamj01) has invited Naval Institute Press (@USNIBooks) author LCOL. Charles Neimeyer. , USMC (Ret.) to discuss his new book, War in the Chesapeake. His book is a new single-volume history of the campaign, and will prove enlightening for both academics and those new to the story.

Can you image hearing that your child who was sick is now dead, and being told, "don't be afraid; just believe," just believe your child is healed? As we study the book of Luke, chapter 8 you will see this senario. Join us on our journey as we move forward in the word of the Lord.
"49 While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.”
50 Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
51 When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother. 52 Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.”"
53 They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. 54 But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!” 55 Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. 56 Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.
