The Pet Place Radio Show Orig. Airdate 4-18-2015

    in Pets

Some years ago, when I was a Lieutenant with Orange County Animal Control, I was asked to train deputy sheriff recruits in the area of dealing with protective animals at crime scenes or other emergency locations.  This came about after a beloved family pet was shot and killed by deputies who had responded to a burglary-in-process call at a residence.  That event made it painfully clear that many law-enforcement personnel had little to no training in dealing with protective animals and resorted to immediate lethal force when confronted with a family pet.  Of course, one of the best bits of information all emergency personnel can use before they arrive to the scene of an emergency is whether or not a pet is there.  And thanks to Smart911, a new service for pet owners, this information is being made available to emergency response agencies.  Jessica Rose from RAVE mobile Safety will be by shortly to tell us about all the details. Then after our halftime break, Ashley Cunningham, the president and founder of Barks of Love Animal Rescue will be checking in to talk about all the latest news from her organization and tails with happy endings.

Are you the change you want to see.

    in Lifestyle

David Lucas only 18 has written an inspirational book for the youth and would love to be interviewed on your show.

Born in Darlington SC, David considers himself to be a young man of
God. Since the age of 13, he answered his calling and recognized his
abiding passion for molding the impressionable hearts and souls of
young people. He always was a change-creating person who so deeply
loves the Lord. At just 15 years old, David began teaching and
preaching. His intense passion for the youth of the congregation
increased many-fold and David was inspired to create a caring
charitable organization, aptly named "Handful", transforming our world
one generous Handful at a time.
"Let's Impact the world together as One "
    -David E. Lucas

    Develop A Righteousness Consciousness 06/02/2015

    in The Bible

    Develop A Righteousness Consciousness

    Review of the lesson
    2 Corinthians 5:17-21
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
    18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

    The Ferguson Effect

    in Politics Conservative

About a month ago I did a show talking about how events in Ferguson, Baltimore, and Milwaukee would change how police operate.  Now in the news we are seeing this very thing.  Crime rates are up.  In Milwaukee the murder rate is up 180% from this time last year.

Police are not engaging because they are scared.  Not of the criminals, but rather of the system that is suppose to support them to do their jobs.

    RAMADI HAS FALLEN

Ramdi is now under ISIS control.  Have we as a nation let go of our efforts to spread democrac?  In a place like Iraq our involvement has turned out to be a huge detriment to that country.  Where we once were a beckon of light, now those people are living in a greater hell than before we over thru Sadam Hussein.

Rick Santorum Joins the Ranks of Right Wing Homophobs

In this election cycle we are going to see more and more of the LGBT community come out (no pun intended).  Where the Republicans land on this issue will make a difference.  More and more Republicans, especially the younger generation, are more accepting of the LGBT community.  This could make a serious difference.  Instead of Republicans being scared of being called racists, this go around they may become scared of being called homophobic.

John 1:1-18 In the beginning was the WORD and HIS name is JESUS!

1 Peter 1:16-21 Peter was not only a witness of God's Glory on Jesus but also was one of the Holy Men chosen to write as a scribe the Word of Prophecy that we love, live and cherish as our very life!

John 2:1-12  Jesus miracles manifested HIS Glory and HIS disciples believed on HIM

    DECLARE THIS WITH ME

    Justin Blackmon hates Rob Gronkowski

    in Sports

Mind of Mansion Podcast Episode 130: Matt Kelley @fantasy_mansion imagines that Justin Blackmon and Josh Gordon loathe Rob Gronkowski's drunken shenanigans.

Affinity for Adrian Peterson in fantasy football demonstrates the gullibility of sports fans who are often susceptible to sports media-contrived player mythology.

No running back in NFL history has been near the top of the league in efficiency after crossing the 2000 carry Rubicon.

HGH is particilarly useful when rehabbing from a major injury.

Jamaal Charles also came back from an ACL tear in less than a year and has averaged 5.5 yards per carry and 37-plus receptions per year in his career.

At least twelve primary NFL running backs will likely be more efficient runners and catch more passes and are less likely to get injured than Adrian Peterson in 2015.

Matt Kelley is a pseudo-intellectual fraud whistleblower employed to expose fraudulent psuedo-intellectual fantasy football analysis.

In both poker and fantasy sports, the largest input cost is the time invested actually playing the game, not the buy-in.

Advanced metrics, prospect evaluations, and fantasy football information were provided by PlayerProfiler.com.

Poet and Teacher Adrian Koesters Joins Kori on the Back Porch

    in Poetry

Adrian Koesters holds an MFA in poetry from the Rainier Writing workshop at Pacific Lutheran University and a Ph.D. in fiction and poetry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her first book of poems, Many Parishes, was published by BrickHouse Books as part of their New Poets Series, and other work has appeared in Berkeley Review, The Gettysburg Review, Hotel Amerika, and elsewhere. She has been a poetry and fiction assistant editor at Prairie Schooner and fiction editor at A River and Sound Review. She taught writing at UNL and the Creighton University MFA program, and lives in Omaha, Nebraska. Web URL: www.adriankoesters.com

Koesters' Many Parishes is an original. The poems seem to smack the hard-ass contemporary world up against a deep spiritual sense, until we see they're one and the same. Adrian Koesters is able to write of men calling out to a ten-year old ''spinster'' to ''come on down, sweetheart, I got something over here to show you,'' and allow us to feel in her small, frightened heart the identical anguish of soul as in the nun who's ''divided from the principalities and goes in terror of them.'' These poems, like the nuns, ''take things personally.'' They're lyrical confessions of the deepest griefs--abuse, divorce, doubt, and loneliness. They provide absolution, and positively joy, in their skillful and lucid singing. --Fleda Brown, author of No Need of Sympathy
