Taboo Talk, a Christian talk show featuring Lady Charmaine Day (Pastor, Wife, Publisher, Author, and Radio Host www.ladycharmaineday.com). Guest starring Lori Bean. Lori Bean was born in a small town in Ohio. She decided that there must be life outside of her small realm and decided to make it a life goal to travel and see the world. She spent a life changing year after high school in Portoviejo, Ecuador, and then headed back to the US to attend Cornell University where she received her undergraduate degree. The summer following college, she did consulting work through the university and traveled through southeast Asia on her quest to see the world. She again returned to the US for a very brief stint —six weeks in fact- working for a Fortune 500 company in a cubicle. Being the quintessential out of box thinker, life in a cubicle was not in the cards. She packed her bags and headed out to Las Vegas to work in Labor Relations. She lasted for a year. She went to another Fortune 500 company- and despite having a door on her office this time—she knew corporate America was not for her. After attending a financial planning seminar, her love of economics and frugality lead her to her new career and passion as a financial planner. As her career took off, she met her husband and her life took a sudden turn. After four cancelled engagements, this one stuck and so began the biggest journey of her life- motherhood.Running her own practice, her husband being a teacher and having a wonderful mother-in-law has allowed her to create a unique lifestyle. Her readership for her blog “Mama Bean’s World”(www.mrsbeansblog.blogspot.com) has grown exponentially over the last year. In her blog she shares her insights and funny stories in what she refers to as “an average person living an average life.” Her wit and insight about trying to balance her two worlds without losing her mind, touches a cord with everyone.
