    Bill Nelson Bio

Due to a tech issue on Blog Talk Radio's booking segment page Bill Nelson's bio is not appearing

    Here it is.

Briefly, I have been involved professionally in criminal justice for over 40 years  in all settings. Right now I am director of a men's halfway house, a women's jail. and of course the recovery center.  I have worked with women since 1984, and before that with girls.  I now teach women in criminal justice at a local college and am fully conversant on feminism, based on personal experience  and knowledge of the various movements.  I can speak to sexual abuse and healing and have done so twice in Sweden, also in Canada and several states.  In Oklahoma , Illinois, and Massachusetts  I have lead communities to develop a compassionate response to the issue of street prostitution, in light of it's current illegality.  The documentary I spoke of we present a convincing case of the failure of the criminal justice system as a response to prostitution.  In it we have a judge, vice cop and a researcher to support this.  I can speak to a whole variety of issues surounding the subject, as I am in almost daily contact with the women.  I cannot however, take a position on legalization/de-criminalization, but the listener can draw their own conclusion
