A few weeks ago our guest was Barry Rillera, This week we get to know his talented brother Butch! Butch started out with the Righteous Brothers when he was 14 years old. Because he was so young, Bobby Hatfield used to pick Butch and his drums up and drive him to their recording sessions. Butch toured and recorded with the Righteous Brothers until he left to replace Bobby Ramirez in White Trash with Jerry LaCroix. Once White Trash with Jerry LaCroix broke up he joined the band Redbone and recorded 4 albums with them. While with Redbone they were constantly appearing on TV shows, (some of which you can find on YouTube), and toured Europe and the U.S. After Redbone, Butch went on to form his own 13-piece band ("Bim Bam") and played Disneyland and local clubs. After the Righteous Brothers broke up he went to work as a manager of their chain of nightclubs, the Hop. The Hop closed in '94 and Butch went on to manage The Empire Ballroom in Newport Beach Ca. In '96 Butch suffered a brain aneurysm and subsequent Basel seizure that left him partially paralyzed, which left him unable to perform. Join us at 8pm(PST).
