Pickle Foot and Bear Claw is the story of two strays looking for a home. As they travel from place to place they encounter hardships, but also acceptance, tolerance and love. Each destination teaches them a new lesson about who they are and what they are truly capable of. Join Richard Seaman and Ellen Matos as they discuss Ellen's journey as a writer and student of SWIHA. Please call into the show to join the discussion or make any comments. Ellen is from a small town in Ohio, born the fourth of five children. She was very much an introvert as a child; and was teased often because she was overweight. Her childhood was difficult and she had very few friends, but she loved to read and write poetry and stories of all kinds. Writing became her escape from the loneliness and unfortunate circumstances in her life. She began writing her version of a “perfect” world at about the age of ten. She lived within the words she wrote of a nurturing, safe environment, and those words gave her strength to go on. Her writing, to this day, is all about triumph over adversity. All of the main characters that she creates in “her world”, are strong and survivors. Ellen is the mother of two wonderfully artistic, grown children and is a twice -published author. Ellen’s first book, “Rinky is Born, A Special Dog finds His Family”, was released over ten years ago; and is an interactive, art therapy book for children 4-7 years of age. Her most current release is, “Pickle Foot and Bear Claw, A Journey Home.” A heart-warming story of two stray dogs on a journey to find a loving home. Her love of animals and children are clearly defined in her writing, continuing the theme of empowerment and love of self. Ellen is currently a Certified Hypnotherapist and Transformation Life Coach certified from the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. Ellen continues to utilize her love for writing in the scripts she writes to assist her clients in healing their hearts and moving forward in their lives.
