Stephan Butler 9:15 Hour  A Close Look at the Here After - Civil Rights and More

Bio:

Born in Selma Alabama

Education:

University of Texas at Arlington, BBA

Military experience

United States Army

Novels:

Moment for Courage (2007)

Suspenseful/Romantic novel about the liberation and empowerment that comes making the ultimate selfless act of love.

The Drive (October 2015)

Inspired by recent acts of suicide such as that of 12 year-old Gabrielle Molina, the Tacoma, WA youth who was bullied by her father and subsequently by her classmates, The Drive takes the stigma out of suicide and parks in the reader's front door.  It is the most fascinating read of 2015!

Possible discussions:

In addition to books, here are some questions about Selma I think would be interesting:

Growing up in Selma under the shadow of Bloody Sunday

An unfulfilled legacy (Lack of economic prosperity. Too much attention to the past instead of the future.)

Separate but equal by another name (Continuation of a disparate education system after integration)

10:00 P.M.  LOVE BROUGHT ME BACK

Have you ever been in a situation where you decided that Love just wasn't for you because of all the hurt and pain of previous relationships and THEN IT HAPPENED. THE REAL THING COMES ALONG and BANG. That's when it hits you but you are reluctant to just sit back and enjoy?

Featuring the music of: Pattie LaBelle and Sade
