Sam Munger (JD, New York University; BA, Amherst College) is the assistant director for outreach and development at ALICE. His work at COWS has covered a range of state policy issues; most recently, he has been researching and writing on issues of state finance and ways to democratize the banking industry. Prior to joining COWS and the ALICE project, Sam worked at a variety of policy organizations in Washington, D.C.
He was a research assistant at The Nation magazine, a legislative researcher for Public Citizen, and an analyst for The Mellman Group, a progressive national political consulting firm. He also clerked for two years in the Southern District of New York and worked for John Kerry’s presidential campaign.
