Rashad Richey is the Political Director and Lead Political Strategist of the Democratic Party in Georgia, Founder of Democracy In, LLC (a political advocacy and community development firm), business owner and serves the U.S. State Department as a Citizen Diplomat through the Georgia Council for International Visitors. (a US State Department organization dedicated to human rights initiatives and the educational enhancement of international government relations).
He can be heard providing political commentary on CBS Radio, The Al Sharpton Show and many other media outlets. Rashad is also the hard hitting talk radio host of the Rashad Richey Show on Atlanta’s 1010 WGUN – Atlanta’s Progressive Talk Station (additional hosts include MSNBC’s Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes, Warren Ballentine and Rev. Jesse Jackson). Rashad earned his undergraduate degree from the American College of Theology in Counseling and continued his studies to complete his Master’s in Theology in 2004. He is currently enrolled at Cornell University where he is completing studies in Executive Leadership. In addition to politics, Rashad serves on the board of directors for Recovery Consultants of Atlanta, REACH United, Pure Haven, Inc., and the Morrow Police Department. Additionally, Rashad has helped develop many community groups through applying the skills of a strategic planner, organizer, fundraiser and community leader. Rashad has dedicated his life to ensuring that everyone has a political voice. Regardless of class, race, age, gender or sexual orientation and advocating for those who may not have always made the best decisions but strive to be better people each day. Through political activism, mentoring and community involvement, Rashad has seen lives change for the better, including his own.
