  The Prophecies of Atlas Shrugged

  In her novel, Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand predicted the bankruptcy of a Michigan Motor company, the emergence of the limousine liberal, the fall of a nation under socialism (communism), that creative entrepreneurs would not tolerate working under socialism, that politicians would create "equalization" legislation, that class envy would fuel the rise of socialism, that coal companies would come under government control to the point of extinction, that oil companies and banks would be nationalized, and even that scientists would discover a way to make objects invisible. And yet she is vilified and scorned by both those on the left and the right.
