Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse & Violence

About 3% of American men, or 1 in 33 men, have experienced an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime. 1 in 3 boys will experience some form of sexual abuse or molestation before the age of 18. In 2003, 1 in every ten rape victims were male. 2.78 million men in the U.S. have been victims of sexual assault or rape. Let us end the cycle of silence for all men! This is not just a woman's issue, you too have a choice and a voice to speak out. It's time to shed light on a very real, very personal issue regarding male sexual abuse. Today's topic will cover areas of the aftermath such as self-blame, myths and stigmas, statistics, the psyche, resources, help and more.
