Tonight, we are addressing the struggle of dominance between female and male, which is a primary concern.

This is a repetitive subject for most Patrilineal societies; especially, in Yorubaland.  The wife of Orunmila i.e. Odu or the Odu Pot is prevalent in the initiation of a male to Ifa.  Even though Ifa is the ultimate deity in the Yoruba tradition; female energy is central to the process.  They must come to grips that female spiritual power is the most potent of all.  Why?  Because they have the ability to create life; so must it be when one is about to enter into a new realm of spirituality, new life.  In every myth throughout history, men have tried to control the power of Awon Iyami that has been given to them by Olodumare, Mother Goddess herself i.e. The Divine Creatrix.
