Sistas Are Workin' It Out: Age Appropriate Fitness to Fabulous Facials

We struggle with imagery production at all ages. From the images we see in media, to our own relationship to self. But, sistas are lovin themselves and doin it for themselves more and more. Today's guest will address workin it out from fitness to make-up. Special guest Pam Kennebrew, The Fifties Coach is owner at Kennebrew Integrated Success Seminars/Fit For Fifty, Philadelphia, PA. While others approach 50 with trepidation and regret, Pamela decided to turn a ‘mid-life crisis’ into a transition that would change the rest of her life. Kennebrew said that she decided to leverage all the experiences of the past 50 years, both good in bad, and use them as a foundation for the next 50 year. Believing that we are triune beings, Kennebrew states that "we are Spirit, we live in a body and we possess a soul." She also believes that in order to be truly successful all these areas must be in alignment. In the stages of life prior to age 50, we have a tendency to focus on one particular area more than the other. The maturing process is about gaining a balance in those areas. Fifty, or the beginning of ‘mid-life’ is the time to bring all those things together, not just to regret the past, but to see how you can benefit others. When we look at ourselves we can get caught up in what might have been, but when we turn outwardly and get the focus off ourselves we see those years as valuable assets that can be converted to cash or whatever else we may need.
