Remembering 9/11: A Day that Changed our Lives Forever

It seems like yesterday when I  entered the hotel ballroom to teach a class about one hour away from the World Trade Center. It was September 11, 2001. There were about 60 business people and the class roster indicated that half of these seminar attendees worked at the World Trade Center. All of those registered from the World Trade Center were with me at 9:00 AM to start the full-day financial seminar. At 9:08 AM a hotel representative came into our ballroom to tell us that there was a horrible tragedy taking place at the World Trade Center. I asked how I could help everyone . This was unimaginable and  so surreal.

The next evening I was in Massachusetts and the server at the restaurant asked me if I wanted a drink. I asked for coffee. When he brought the coffee I told me I had changed my mind and I would like a shot of Bailey's to go in the coffee. I explained that I don't usually drink but it's been a rough 24 hours. He told me that he just had a beer the night before and he never does that either, but his brother's fiance was missing after the World Trade Center attack and collapse. I asked him to do me a favor and I gave him money to buy flowers for her. I never knew if she was found alive. My prayers go out to everyone and to us as a nation that we will always remember.
