Online scams, identity theft, and security issues are growning. I recently read some very potentially scary, intimidating scam letters written by people posing to be government officials and this show is the result of my conversation with the Las Vegas Field Office of the FBI about online scams and some of the ways we can protect ourselves and how we can report these crimes. The Internet Crime Center is a partnership between the FBI, the National White Collar Crime Center(NW3C) and the Bureau of Justice Assistance. The best thing we can do is to be aware that there are those out there with bad intentions and willingness to rob or destroy us and our best plan of action is awareness they this exists, taking steps to protect ourselves, and banning together as concerned citizens and reporting the problems to authorities. You may be helping yourself or a loved one stay safer and keep their money intact instead of getting hurt.
