Welcome to the Unofficial Catholic Exegesis. This show is featured Monday through Friday sometime between the hours of 1PM-3PM. The purpose of the show is to offer a Catholic Perspective on Blog Talk Radio. The show is meant for both Catholics to enjoy as well as those of other denominations or those without any denomination to understand what is to be a Catholic.

Today is a difficult but important reading. It is difficult in that in the Letter of Paul we see Paul as a human and disciple instead of as a teacher—as he is in other letters. In the Gospel, we see Jesus send forth his disciples to spread the message of the Lord. In both cases, there is danger and death in their way.

So today's readings ask us a Catholics: What is at stake in being a disciple of the Lord? Knowing what is at stake, we must ask ourselves why is it worth it?
