Remembering Feelings of Success- Part One

The memories of our early school can be beautiful but what is too painful to remember we choose to suppress or forget. Suppression and denial are about consciously pushing memories into our unconscious that cause us painful thoughts. The thoughts we are talking about this episode focus on the times you sat behind a desk excited about the learning experience and overcame harmful thoughts, and denial of the reality facing you. It is our hope that our listeners, who may have forgotten the excitement of learning, can be encouraged to see the light at the end of the tunnel again. This is the month that we help many Adult Learners connect with education and training programs that will maintain or assist with obtaining successful placement in the workforce.

Writing and Publishing Success Stories About Students and Teachers- Part Two

White Apple Institute wants to publish stories about how adult students have overcome the labels and characteristics associated with being categorized as “disabled” or “at risk”. This theme is especially important for students and teachers determined to succeed in the most socially-disadvantaged communities in the United States. Professor Applewhite anticipates that students with mental or physical disabilities living in other parts of the world will experience a sense of hope that learning and working, versus begging ,on the streets is possible. Our host, Professor Applewhite, and co-host, Nazim Rashid have invited Nick Ligidakis, a major publisher, mentor, and founder/owner of Inkwell Publications. In addition, we are hoping to hear from Jewel Diamond Taylor, known as the Self-Esteem Doctor, a successful motivational speaker, blogtalkradio host, and self-made publisher.

Writing and Publishing Success Stories About Students and Teachers- Part One

Here is your chance to participate in a unique Student2Teacher episode. Join a positive discussion with writers and book publishers and learn how to start the first steps in putting your pen and/or keyboard to work or encouraging someone else to. One of the most difficult academic challenges faced by students, even future teachers, is when they are asked to express their ideas in writing surpassed only by the battle to pass required math courses. In addition, you will enjoy hearing Professor Applewhite (author of the book “Rehabilitating Our Illness Mentality”, 2010), co-host, Nazim Rashid (author of the book “Reconnecting”, 2010) discuss the journeys they are experiencing with writing and seeking publication.

Students and Teachers Ready to Make the Change

Some time ago, Professor Applewhite, Host, and Nazim Rashid, Co-host discussed the topic “When the Student is Ready the Teacher Appears”. After many shows since then we feel compelled to ask our Listeners who may still feel frustrated, fearful, and experiencing the symptoms of “drop-out” and “burn-out” if they are, ready to make the change? We want to know if the things discussed on our show are helping are Listeners feel more confident, hopeful, and committed to building faith in themselves and the educational system in the United States. Several school administrators, special education teachers, and employers have been invited to share in this discussion with adult students. An overview of how membership and donations to White Apple Institute’s humanitarian work is helping to bring awareness to the many persons succeeding at school and work, in spite of the hidden challenges of mental and physical disabilities, and at risk issues.
