Author Shirley A. Shirley

BILLINGS, Mont. – What would happen if you were diagnosed with cancer? Would you be able to give God thanks for it?

Author Shirley A. Shirley did just that, and shares her tale in My Journey: Reflections on Life from a Cancer Survivor.

This autobiography revisits her most complex moments, including her battle with cancer. Through a collection of poetry and stories, she explains how she found courage, faith and joy while reflecting on her childhood, married life in Iowa and move to Montana, in hopes to inspire readers to find their own strength.

“A cancer diagnosis comes as a shock,” Shirley says. “I kept a personal journal of my fears and feelings of helplessness. In those times, I pleaded with God for answers and help. I received answers for my struggles, which I share in these poems.”
