Wayne Pacelle, President and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States, will be making an appearance on Storytellers Campfire on August 15, 2012 at 8:00pm Pacific Time, to talk about his best-selling book, The Bond: Our Kinship with Animals; Our Call to Defend Them.

You have probably noticed that animals are in the news now more than ever. Whether it’s exposure of abuse in Tennessee walking horse stables or the public’s concern about the way animals in the food industry are treated, animals command a significant presence in the news.

Nobody has done more to foster the awareness of animals’ place in our civic conversations than Wayne Pacelle.

The HSUS has more than 276,000 supporters in Washington alone. There are many animal issues we are working to address in Washington including protecting sea lions at Bonneville Dam and ending animal fighting rings.
