Strangely enough, part of my comment just disappeared: "... state funded and controlled(!) abuse." it said at the end. What also disappeared is my rating of the show: five stars!

It doesn't necessarily need a psychiatrist to either make sure any psychological symptoms are caused by physiological (real) illness, or help people come off psychotropic drugs. Most psychiatrists don't know more about the latter than any GP (which is: not enough!) My conclusion remains unchanged: there is no other reason for psychiatry to exist than as a tool to perform social control.
