The Census Bureau revealed that the poverty rate remained stuck at 15% last year (2012) the same as the year before (2011) and some 2.5 percentage points higher than in 2007, reads a NY Times article, "The Measure of Our Poverty." by Eduardo Porter. Meanwhile the so-called "1%" of the population grew by 29%, the equivalent of a thousand new millionaires per day, over the President's first three years in office, according to theguardian.com November 1, 2012 article entitled "US has added 1.1m new millionaires under Obama, says study" by Dominic Rushe. With this explosion of millionaires under President Obama, we should not be arguing over whether or not to raise the minimum wage. I'm sorry!
