To Bow Or To Shake Hands? - Cultural Differences And Networking Etiquette
By Dr. Ivan Misner and Bertrand McHenry

We now live in a fully global society where it is imperative to have an awareness of cultural differences as they relate to networking etiquette.  We often notice differences within our own states.  Certainly between regions of the nation; but what about businesses that are networking with businesses in other parts of the world?  We actually cross cultures with every person we meet.

Taking Action

This week I was the guest speaker at the Referral Business Builders breakfast meeting and the talk I gave was about Natural Laws and how, if utilized, will help us achieve our goals.

During the Q & A portion of the talk, one of the attendees asked me when I first internalized “give first and expect nothing in return”. I said that I first learned about this from a book my boss gave me to read. The book was Psycho-Cybernetics by Dr. Maxwell Maltz. We then discussed the value of building a library of self- help books.

Of course, no discussion about building a library would be complete without talking about that wonderful book, Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill. Aye, and there’s the rub!
