Step one for me was to find out in as much detail as possible what her needs are. Her goals will become my goals. She needs vendors who purchase booths, so I asked for prices, brochures, configurations etc. In short I need as much education about what she does and wants to accomplish as possible. I take out my phone and begin to go through my contact list, asking “Would this person be a good referral for you?” and I begin to compile a list. Next I take that list and mark where I am in relationship with each contact I’ve listed, V.C. or P. I’ll begin to have conversations with all the folks I am at Profitability with on Jennifer’s behalf. The V’s and C’s I’m going to place in my Relate2Profit data base and begin to build a more solid and or compelling relationship with them so I am able to make the introduction to Jennifer in the near future. On Sunday I’m going to send her my list with all of my Relationship indicators and next action plans… she then has the right to call me when she feels she needs to and ask me where I am with each one of those contacts! I have action items built into my schedule that benefit Jennifer’s business goals! Powerful!
