    I can’t tell you how many times I have told someone to get busy writing content for their web sites. Content seems to be the real stumbling block most beginning marketers have. It’s vital that SEO be used to optimize the site’s pages with in order to reach as many search engine searchers are possible. Search engine optimization can make all the difference for a new online business. There is even SEO going on in the background which the webmaster never indented. Listen to the broadcast and I will explain. New website owners either feel they can’t write the content well enough or they don’t like doing it in the first place. But website content really is king when it comes to getting traffic to young sites. Sure, quality back links trump content any day, but new sites don’t have the luxury of having those great back links. So in the beginning all a beginning home Internet marketer can do for their site is to create content. In this broadcast I offer some stats form my own website which are very telling as to why plenty of web content is important.

    Internet Business - Without a Web Site

    The numbers of people who dream about having an Internet business without having a website are quite high. I know this because I talk with many beginners in my business. Most of them have fallen victim to one or more of the Internet business scams out there that tout the gold mines of money awaiting those who implement their “no website” methods. Don’t get me wrong, there are some people who have done very well in their Internet business without having website…Maybe .0001% off all those attempting. The primary method of making money with an Internet business without using a website is a method called “Bum Marketing”. This involves buying domain names and redirecting them with one’s affiliate links. Then the owner of the domains writes articles on the topics of the affiliate products and submits them to the free article directories. The domain with the redirect is placed in the bio of the article. Although this method does work, it’s not as easy as it sounds. A good knowledge of niche selection and SEO are required in the first place. Secondly, the vast majority of articles created with this method will only, at best, result in a few sales per month. In many cases the numbers can be 1 sale every few months. This is fine, but in order to have any substantial income, many hundreds of articles must be written. Sure, every once in a while an article is written that does far better. But this usually results from the skill of the marketer…a skill that comes with much practice. Building an Internet business is not something that comes easily or quickly. Beginners must realize this and know that patience is required if they are to ever enjoy a successful Internet business.

    Online Customer Service: Don't Drop That Ball!

It amazes me the number of times I witness poor customer service online. I wonder how some of those online businesses stay in business; I guess many of them don’t. What is about some business owners that cause them to totally drop the ball when it comes to customer service? Do they not realize how much money they must be losing because of it? I for one will not promote a product or business if the service is bad. I don’t care how great their product is either. When one goes to all the trouble of building an online business with a website and marketing that business, always go that extra ten miles when it comes to providing outstanding customer service!

    What Can I Sell Online?

    What can I sell online? I hear that question a lot from my new Internet marketing students. Generally I tell them they are not to the stage yet of deciding what to market or how to focus their home Internet business. They often put the cart before the horse in this respect. When they ask me what to sell online, I point out to them that I had the same problem when I was at that level. Early in my online marketing career I too was without a clue as to what to sell online. But when I became familiar with how SEO worked and how proper online niche research worked, I rapidly had the opposite problem. Soon, many doors of opportunity were opening to me. I had to work at narrowing my focus down to just one or two internet marketing ventures as I built my home business. Choosing something to sell online is more of a function of picking something which you can get traffic to and make a profit with. It makes no difference if one has a great website selling super duper widgets if traffic can’t be directed to the site easily. What to sell online is solely determined by the Internet marketer’s current skill level for driving traffic, demand for the product, and the profitability of the product.     Start A Home Internet Business On A Shoestring Budget.

    Those who think starting an Internet business requires investing thousands of dollars in seminars, site and graphic design, advertising, etc. are absolutely on the wrong path. In fact, I will go as far to say that anyone attempting to build a home Internet business who first invests any significant money will more than likely never enjoy success before quitting the venture entirely. This is the part I like best about building an online business at home; great success is possible with very little investment at all. By “very little”, I do mean VERY little. My wife and I began our home business with a hosting account that cost just a few dollars per month, a ten dollar Internet domain name, and a case of products (we were already using in our home anyway) which cost $200. That was it! I learned everything I needed to know about building an Internet business by reading things on the Internet and participating in several online forums. I taught myself how to make web pages and studied a lot about how to optimize. Our home business began making money and we reinvested all the profits into more and more products for the site. We began business with almost no risk whatsoever. In this episode I describe in more detail how we build our home Internet business.

    Online Marketing Tips: Managing Your Time and Working With a Plan

    Before I quit my job I used to fantasize all the time about all the time I would have to work in my online business when I did quit. I never expected time to be a continuous problem even after I left my 50 hour a week job.

    Internet marketers must first go through the growing pains of “finding their niche and methods” online. The sooner that process is complete, the sooner they can get on with the main goal of making money. Having a definite plan of action which can be followed is crucial.
