Yesterday we went through what was Tropical Storm Hermine being upgraded to a Hurricane that was due to make landfall not far from here. The upgrade brought on many cancellations in preparation of what we could get. One of the major cancellation was the Gulf Coast Pepsi Jam which is a huge 2 day country concert during Labor Day weekend. Well mid day yesterday the decision was made to cancel it. OMG People acted like they had lost their minds. Now you have the option for a refund or to attend next year's show. Do you not think that this was not easy decision that was made by officials? Also did anyone think about the artists who began pulling out the minute the weather went left here? Even though we were not directly in the zone for a direct hit there was alot of uncertainity. Yesterday Hermine was wrecking havoc in Tampa but it was also causing problems in Apalachicola and Alligator point. I am also hearing that people were not kind to our local people because their shows were being premeted. Also we had most of the reporters who are usually behind the desk out in the mess LIVE! I am hoping that this mess came from tourists who know no better but I bet some locals were in on this. We are on the coast and it is Hurricane Season until November 1! Be thankful that we have not had to deal with for 11 years. I rather be safe than sorry. I am also a person who is about being prepared! So all of you all complaining Get over IT!
