The November 30th edition of the Encouragement Group, features David Gerber, Director of Counseling/Shelter Services at St. Christopher’s Inn discussing the concept of “Corny is Cool in Recovery.” He communicates the importance and benefits of moving away from a user-based lifestyle where life is about being cool and all about “me”, and moving towards a “we-based, corny” lifestyle of recovery, that is void of constant chaos. Michael Boccia chimes in by talking about how people are willing to listen to mentors in other areas of life, but have difficulty finding mentors in recovery, and what happens when you take the risk of listening, and being vulnerable. Miracles will be shared.
