PTSD and Veterans from a Nurses Perspective - Join Neshi and guest Angela Joseph Gaffke, Army nurse and combat veteran, to learn about the effects of PTSD and its healing.  

Angie serves as the Occupational Health Nurse for the Wisconsin Army National Guard and has served in the military for over 27 years caring and representing the interests of service members, veterans and their families. Angie recently was assigned as the Executive Officer for the Community Based Warrior Transition Unit (Wounded Warriors) in Concord, Massachusetts, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) managing the care for over 500 wounded soldiers located in 13 different states in the Northeast Region of the United States. Angie is very active with many veteran and military organizations; she holds or has held many positions. 

Angie has a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Wisconsin - Platteville in Criminal Justice and has her Nursing degree through Excelsior College out of Albany, New York. She received her graduate degree from the University of Denver with a Masters of Professional Studies in Healthcare Leadership and Strategic Management.

This is an important topic and one that profoundly affects the individual, their family and their community. This show is also to celebrate the nursing profession and those nurses who dedicate their lives to others.
