    Remember that old song "New York, New York, If you can make it here-you can make it anywhere"? Well, this show is all about learning how people make it in NYC. The journey or quest of being an actor/artist in NYC is not an easy path. So learn tips and tricks from actual actors, artists and performers in NYC who making it in NYC. Want a successful acting career? Well, learn from those who are already doing it!

    Today 8/31/09 I interviewed Ashley Ward, Actress, Comedian, Improviser and Singer to learn about what makes her tick as a NYC actress. Ashley has a degree in musical theater from webster university and has studied improv at the pit, ucb and the magnet. she currently performs with big black car (every wed. at 8 at the pit), baby wants candy (musical improv) (sat. at 10:30 at barrow street theater starting sept 12) and various other performance groups including best new artist, 30,000 khz of sound (improv in the dark) and nights of our lives (story telling show at ucb).and Best New Artist Sat. at 8 at the PIT!

    On 8/13 I interviewed Matt Fried. Matt Fried is a writer, performer, and the real-life Spider-Man. His comedy career began in college as an inaugural member of the C.W. Post improv troupe, The Men's Room. Since then, he has studied improv and comedy writing at The PIT, as well as UCB and iO (Improv Olympic) in Chicago. He is the creator, producer, and host of "The Matt Fried Hour," a live latenight-talk show, which had its initial run at The PIT. His improv credits include The Dream NYC, The Best of… Fried & Mandeville, and Bad Luck Rising. As an actor, he's appeared in music videos for The New Rivals and Peter Cincotti, as well as a few independent films from SVA and Brooklyn College. As a writer, he has contributed original work to Guidespot.com, The New York Television Festival, and maintains the storytelling/humor blog, IamMattFried.com. Matt holds a B.F.A. in Theater Arts from Long Island University - C.W. Post. He lives in Brooklyn.

Select New York credits include: Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Antony in Julius Caesar, Forest in The Ugly Man and Spartacus in Spartacus. Regional credits include: Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Human Race Theatre Company, Theatre West Virginia, Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival, and the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre. On television he has appeared in a recurring role on ABC's One Life to Live, and also on All My Children.Aaron is an experienced fight captain and has been recognized by the SAFD and FDC in the broadsword. He is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

    on 6/5 I interviewed Richard Brundage. Richard is a talented film and stage actor. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0116054/. New York-based actor Richard Brundage was born in Seattle and grew up in Woodbridge, Virginia and La Spezia, Italy. Before taking up acting, he pursued several careers, some of them quite brief, including librarian, semi-professional French hornist, high-school math teacher, word processor, and classical music engraver/editor. At the age of 39, pretty much on a whim, he signed up for a couple of acting classes at HB Studio in Manhattan. Soon he was ruined for any kind of useful employment except acting, and that's all he's been doing ever since.
