One of the biggest challenges that a person has to overcome in life is learning “how to make wise decisions.” If you think back over your time here on earth I am certain that you can appreciate the fact that every situation, or circumstance that you have been made to face has stemmed from a decision that you have made. In fact, even when you make a decision not to decide, then you’ve made a decision towards indecision! (CIRCULAR THOUGHT HUH? OOOOOH!)
Every experience, every predicament, every problem, every solution, every triumph, and every failure have all come about as a result your decisions. If we make good decisions, then often times we will find the road to contentment, happiness, and peace in living fulfilled lives. If we make bad decisions, we often find the way to disappointment, pain and inner turmoil. However, truth be told, whether the decision you make is a good one or a bad one, one thing is certain: You must decide.”
Thankfully, we are not left to make these decisions alone. David reminds us in the 25th Psalm that if we ask God, he will lead us and guide us, and direct our path. He says,
“To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul; in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse. Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long… Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.”
In other words, if you stay the course; if you keep your covenant with the Creator; if you remain in a right relationship with Him, then He will direct your path. “Ask and it shall be given; seek and ye shall find!” Whatever you desire, God has made provision in his word for you to acquire.
So even though the Holy Spirit is a gentleman waiting on you to make the final decisions in your life, those decisions get a whole lot easier when you allow yourself to be guided by a God who sees all, knows all, and is every where at all times. After all, who is more qualified to lead our lives than a God who knows our “downsitting and our uprising”; a God who “formed us and knew us while we were yet in our mother’s womb”; a God who died for you and I “while we were yet sinners.”
But ultimately my friend, you must decide. You must decide to allow him to lead you on the paths of righteousness. You must decide to allow his anointing to flow in you life. Good or Bad; For or Against: You Must Decide!
