    WE HAVE NEVER BEEN ALONE

There are places around the world, places of adventure, intrigue and mystery. We sometimes look at these places of magic and mystical story’s with a sense of scepticism and doubt. We see them as nothing more than folklore and myths. They don’t really fit into our idea of reality. Why is it so hard for us to believe? When I used to think of these places, I would think of Egypt, Darkest Africa, and The Amazon, Deserted islands in the Pacific and the castles and crypts of Europe. I never thought I would think of Northern Ontario as one of these places I find so mysterious and interesting. When I was younger it was so much easier to believe in stories of ghosts, ufo’s and mysterious creatures. I feel we all did. I’ve always found the truth has always been stranger than fiction. So to find a true life mystery at my age is truly remarkable and enlightening. However to be honest when I think of it, I get a feeling of darkness and foreboding when I try to wrap my head around its many questions. There truly is no darkness in the mystery. It’s just a feeling. A somewhat scary feeling and I don’t know why. Is it just the unknown? I once thought that every mystery could be explained. I’m not so sure now. Being sceptical about what I’ve seen and heard and witnessed will always be a priority for me. Keeping my mind open to new ideas along my journey will be as well.I feel that I’m being drawn into the mystery a very willing participant. However I’ll always be looking for reasonable explanation for it. Just think and try to believe that maybe, just maybe we have never been alone. Just think that maybe when the first people crossed the land bridge and made their way into what would be eventually called North America, something was here before them. They may have always been here. They will be called by many names. Many native legends believe at one time they lived side by side with these creatures. Time and human contact eventually led to the Sasquatch going further and further into the woods and eventually into myths and legends. An ancient spirit to some, flesh and blood for others. Always taboo to speak of it in most. Always wise to avoid it in all.I believe if you look close enough into the darkening woods, just past the tree line you will see them from time to time.Life is far more interesting than I once thought. I now look forward to discovery.
