Arizona Football League, AzFL in it's 18th season of play. Anthony LaBarbera talks about SW Stampede, NY NFL teams and missing Christmas on Long Island. The AzFL plays 11 man Club, some call it minor league or semi-pro football. There are teams in Tucson, Flagstaff, Prescott and in Phoenix. They play games on Saturday, Jan-May. Players have gone to college. Some have gone on to the AFL to play Arena football, such as Chad DeGrenier, Siaha Burley, Gerard Williams. Duece Lutui is now in the NFL. The players pay their own expenses, buy their own gear and play for the love of the game. The AzFL provides game videos, action and team photos as part of the membership. It broadcasts games, stories, interviews every Saturday since 2008 on the AZ Sports Network Radio show from 8 to Midnight on KXXT 1010 AM. Streams live Host Kevin Pakos also founded the AzFL in 1994 and has been involved with minor league football since 1974. He got his start in media in High School working on the school paper and yearbook as a writer and photographer. He has been working in media ever since, including Radio, Cable TV, newspapers.
