Lakey is a self taught street artist/poet travelling the U.S. shattering cliches and sharing his passion border to border and coast to coast. Currently on his #SuitandTieTour he goes city to city posting up and draws on the streets wearing a suit and tie sitting beside an open portfolio and a sign saying “Grandma says I need a job wearing a suit and tie…this is my compromise.” He started his artistic pursuit in poetry and made San Antonio’s PuroSlam National Poetry Slam three consecutive years before taking up visual art. Occasionally he still performs at slam/jazz venues or when he hears a talented musician on the street who is down for working together but most of his concentration lies in the visual nowadays. He’s always looking for new friends and soft couches out on the road.
