Today is a replay of the episode featuring Jack McCarthy who calls himself a standup poetry guy; he is considered a legend on the national poetry slam scene. The Boston Globe says,In the poetry world, he is a rock star. Poet Steven Dobyns calls him, One of the wonders of contemporary poetry. He's been on two poetry slam teams and brought out 6 books of poetry and two CDs. An engaging minor character in the film Slamnation, he was a semi-finalist for thea semi-finalist for the Individual Slam Championship in 2000 and won the haiku championship at IWPS in 2007. His work has been widely published, has been heard on NPR, and appears in the anthologies The Spoken Word Revolution, The Spoken Word Revolution Redux and the very prestigious, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Slam Poetry.
