His humble beginnings started at 13 years old as a short order cook in his parents’ bowling alley coffee shop in Irving, Texas. He was one of the first corporate kitchen trainers for Chili’s opening restaurants all over the U.S. in the mid-80s; worked for Houston’s Restaurants in Dallas, Kansas City and Atlanta; and Patrizio’s Italian restaurant in Highland Park Village for Jack Knox in the mid-90s before coming to Las Colinas for his 15-year long tenure at Cool River Café.Stephenson is a man of many talents and enjoys sharing his knowledge with and enjoys sharing his knowledge with others. If he’s not working in a kitchen, you’ll find him in a classroom teaching or wandering the back roads on two wheels taking life a crossroad at a time.
