Black Atticus is from Knoxville TN and has been a hip hop junkie as long as he can remember. He blames his mother for playing 45's of the Beastie Boy's (Brass Monkey) and Fresh Prince (Touch of Jazz)
early in the morning before she went to work, for his addiction. He started out like most emcees, freestyling to himself and friends, but it wasn't until he hooked up with a group (The Fluid Engineerz) in 2002, did he start creating music more seriously. Since the groups break up in 2004,Atticus has developed hi

s craft of words through slam poetry (he's been a nationally ranked slam poet for six years now) and is currently the longest standing voice for Knoxville's 'Edutainment Hip Hop Show'(on 90.3FM WUTK- THE ROCK).In the last two years, he's joined forces with THE THEORIZT (www.thetheorizt.com), has become one of two lead vocalist, and also has merged talents with a California producer, Average Thought, who remembered Atticus from the 'Love For This' single, dropped by Fluid Engineerz a decade prior; and they are currently forming a duet team called "Invincible Sock Monkeys".
