It’s Thanksgiving season in the US and Canada, and a time many people reflect on what they are grateful for.  We are talking about gratitude – the concept of being thankful, seeing the silver lining in every cloud even when there seems to be nothing by gray in the sky, paying attention to the simple pleasures in your daily life appreciating the good things that you have and experience.

A study by Dr. Robert Emmons on gratitude found that thankfulness can increase a person’s level of happiness by about 25%.  Also, grateful people tend to recover faster from adversity, they have stronger immune systems, they exercise more regularly, and they have more fulfilling personal relationships.
