Today is the continuation in our Moments TO BE miniseries with Barbara Hofmeister, Amazon.com best selling author of The To Be Book, and Moments TO BE.  Barbara is going to address the question of worrying; why it’s bad for you, and provide tips for overcoming it.

Have you ever spent a sleepless night worrying about something or someone?  What if there’s another terrorist attack?  What if the price of gas keeps going up?  What if my spouse leaves me?  What if I never find a spouse?  What about those financial results for next quarter?  Did I remember to turn off the stove?

According to the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, in its more extreme forms, worry can metastasize into Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), which is characterized by persistent, excessive, and unrealistic worry about everyday things.  GAD affects 6.8 million adults, or 3.1% of the U.S. population, in any given year. Women are twice as likely to be affected.
