LET'S TALK ABOUT THE ROAD BEYOND A CULTURE OF VIOLENCE IN AMERICA AND THE WORLD.
This weekend, we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the 2nd Inauguration of President Obama. Leading up to this weekend, a man named Larry Ward tried to launch a national Gun Appreciation Day to coincide with the weekend honoring Martin Luther King Jr., who was killed in 1968 by an assassin's bullet. At the same time President Obama officially launched his campaign for gun violence prevention.
In the midst of the growing debate between gun lovers and those advocating restraint, there has been little talk about the roots of the culture of violence or the way to carve a path towards RESEPECT FOR LIFE. As we celebrate Dr. King's birthday and the NonViolent Direct Action Movement he led, this is the time to talk about the power of soulforce--satyagraha.
Dr. Maisha Hazzard talks to us about being a Spiritual Activist in the truest sense by activating the inner Power of Love, Light, and Intelligence that is seeded in us.
